The compressor wheel is a part of a compressor rotor in gas turbine rotor each compressor wheel is machine separately and assembled with tie rods the compressor rotor is an axial flow type with 17 stages.

The wheel is made of haste alloy (Ni, Cr, motored sheet) it has the following material composition.

Silicon – 0.05 Iron – 66.0
Manganese – 1.10 Titanium – 1.4
Chromium – 19.0
Nickel – 9
Molybdenum – 1.4
Phosphorus – 0.4

The importance of gas turbine thus being known has made it necessary for its manufacture the unit rotor plays a key role in the functions as a turbine it is manufactured by assembly of compressor and turbine rotors on a single shaft the compressor as an assembly 17 compressor wheels being stacked using the bolts the two rotors long with a distance piece and a forward shaft and backwards shaft a single unit termed a unit .
